how to best use your online support group

Group Loop is your place to be open, be yourself, connect with new friends, and of course, feel better.

Take a chance—talk about your concerns
and see if it helps!

  • We have learned that teens who are willing to talk about their lives—including their thoughts and feelings—enjoy and get the most out of their Online Support Group. In fact, teens say that they often feel less alone, more encouraged, and more connected with each other when they talk in groups.
  • The more you are in the loop and interested in the lives of your fellow Group Loop members, the more you will enjoy and get something back from the Online Support Group. The more interested you are in others, the more interested they will be in you. Your Group Loop “friends” have many of the same life experiences and challenges as you take this opportunity to share with each other.
  • Being Patient Active in group discussions by asking questions and giving feedback helps you relate better to your Group Loop friends. When you share in group you may find that you relate better to friends and family outside of group.
  • Get to know each other outside of your Online Support Group. We encourage you to talk 2 teens in other ways such as through the message boards, telephone calls, emails, or in any way that may work for you. It is important to let others know whether you want to be contacted outside of the group. Discuss your limits so that we all understand each other better.
