After a long hospital stay, your teen may be both nervous and excited about going back to school. It may be helpful to start preparing before your teen returns to school.

Once back, continue to help your teen advocate for himself or herself, problem solve, and adjust to school demands. There are federal laws, IDEA and Section 504, that protect your child’s right to an education. Make sure you are knowledgeable about your teen’s rights.
